Our F-Teamers Are Ready for Trials

Our Aussie F-Teamers are gearing up for World Champs Trials.

World Champs Trials is around the corner and with a spot on the Aussie team heading to South Korea next month on the line there's going to be some seriously high-calibre racing happening! Taking place in Brisbane over the 9-14th of June, our Funkita athletes will be donning their dome caps and racing their hearts out. As we head into the Olympic year, qualifying for this event will be essential for swimmers looking to get some serious international racing on the books.

Two key athletes to keep an eye on at Trials are West Australia's Blair Evans and Holly Barratt. Having represented Australia internationally since the 2009 World Champs and with two Olympic Games under her belt there is no question Blair is going to be pushing her IM competitors to the limit. After just missing out on a spot on the Aussie Pan Pacs team last year, Blair is looking to make the Aussie team this year as key prep for what could be her third Olympics. Holly made her international debut medalling at the 2017 World Champs and since then has raced to a spot on the podium at the 2018 World Short Course Championship and Commonwealth Games. Having recently been named the WA Swimmer of the Year Holly is hoping her intensive training schedule and amazing work ethic will help her secure a spot on another Australian team.

Holly Barratt made her international debut at the 2017 World Champs and she's looking to make the team once again in Queensland!

Trials also marks the return of Meg Bailey to racing in Australia! Having been at Ohio State since 2014 it's a welcome return just in time to get a great Olympic campaign going. While she was in the US she earned a spot on the Commonwealth Games team where she made finals in both the 200 and 400 IM. She also received All American status which is awarded to swimmers who come in the top 8 at the NCAA Championships, a massive achievement in such a competitive event.

Meg Bailey

Meg Bailey is ready to dive back into racing in Australia after graduating from Ohio State.

The young guns who are taking on some of Australia's best are Emily White (15), Jaime Kruger (15) and Gabi Peiniger (17). As part of the Australian Junior Worlds team Emily and Gabi are some of Australia?s best upcoming talent and we can't wait to see how well they do in the pool. Jaime, no stranger to a big program, will be racing in 4 events.
